	The End of Poverty Author: Jeffrey Sachs ISBN: 0143036580	Sachs brilliantly lays out the case for how and why we can end extreme poverty in the next 20 years. It's a very compelling thesis.

	Slaughterhouse-Five Author: Kurt Vonnegut ISBN: 0440180295	It's a close call between this and Cat's Cradle, but Schlachthof-funf wins out--perhaps because I stopped in Dresden when I was in Europe 10 years ago, and the the scars of World War II are still omnipresent and humbling.

	Bringing Down the House Author: Ben Mezrich ISBN: 0743249992	Excellent narrative--a quick read, but very enthralling

	Kafka on the Shore Author: HARUKI MURAKAMI ISBN: 1400079276	Incredible characters, brilliant insights into being... MURAKAMIplays "what if" with reality better than any author I've read. This is as good as Wind-Up Bird.
